Speaking of etsy... I've found a photographer here in the area... It's ME, Eloise! Photography... and I am super excited about an upcoming photo shoot to showcase the great items I put so much love into making!
Her name is Emmie and she's just starting out (a newbie... like me!) Go show her facebook page some love!
Check out this little peanut
I'm so exicted to work with her and get some professional pics up on etsy.
It's still up for debate who dropped my camera at Disney World this past Christmas. My husband and I have conflicting stories, and until I get a new one I have been using his old camera.
We all know a good etsy shop needs good pictures or your product isn't appealing to others. Since I am just starting out I've been trying new ways to spruce up my at home pictures of my products to make them more appealing to they eye.
Tips for taking good etsy pictures:
1. Take pictures outside!
The pictures I take outside look WAY better than inside.
2. Auction setting: I found an auction setting on my husband's camera. They turn out a whole lot clearer than the normal auto focus setting.
3. Use props: i.e. wine glasses and postcards
I got these postcards from vistaprint for FREE! I just had to pay shipping and handling.
They made this:
Look like this!
Pretty fancy huh?!
I picked up the fabric behind the card down at a resell shop here in Windsor. Paid $.50!
It's going to be my baby girl's big day, but momma must dress for the occasion.. I'm thinking about adding this iron on applique to a white t-shirt for myself.
Childish? Maybe. Do I care? No. What do you think the hubby should wear?! Mickey?
I'd only be so lucky.
I also ran across a cute pattern for a minnie mouse hat at Crochet Dreamz. I added my own touches here and there and I'm almost done! All I have to do is sew her all together and put my little model to work in the morning. Here's the progress so far:
Coffee is on, baby is in bed, and the dishes, well, those are still in the sink (oops!) But it's ME time now and who wants to do dishes when it's ME time?! Not this girl.
Anywho, if you are coming over from Finger Prints on the Fridge let me just say: WELCOME! Doesn't she just do the best little home improvements ever?! She has definately inspired me to start taking charge and getting this house in ship shape! Tonight I kindly asked my husband if we had any Lowe's gift cards left from Christmas to which he replied, "why, what are you making now?" I have so many ideas running through my head I don't even know how to sort them all. My trip to hobby lobby tomorrow is going to be an eventful one to say the least!
I say trip because the closest craft/fabric/hobby store to where I live (out here in the boondocks) is an hour and a half away. And with gas prices the way they are I wait until I have a list of things I need to scoop up.
Rachelle has been so kind as to host my first ever GIVEAWAY! I'm so excited you have no idea! Here is what you could win...
...pretty sweet huh?! I pondered over and over what to give away and I made this little lady the other night and thought it was perfect! The colors remind me of Easter and with spring approaching and the sun shining what better way to keep the sun out of your child's eyes... in style! Now get on over there and learn how to enter. If you have already entered, GOOD LUCK! Check out the great etsy codes while you're at it.
And thanks for giving this newbie some <3 I hear a couple of hooks calling my name.. it's coffee and crochet time!
Ok ok, so I may be craft and computer savy but I am definately not blog savy yet. Rookie, I know. Can anyone tell me why the boxes on the right hand side of my blog are all scrunching together?! I have the same template design on my family blog and they don't seem to do this.
See.. I can take a picture of my screen and add text yet I can't figure out HTML. GrRRrrRrr...
Any help here would be much appreciated! HTML and I don't get along so well... I have a lot to learn :/
Maybe thats why I only have 1 follower (thank you tawny!).... hmmMMmMmm
